In 2011, Neil Root joined Essrig Taylor Construction as a project engineer. He started his construction career at the age of 16 working in a sheet metal shop, and continued to work in the HVAC and electrical fields for over a decade. He moved to San Diego from the Antelope Valley, where he worked as a project coordinator for a solar electric and HVAC firm. As a project coordinator he was involved in several commercial and custom residential solar and HVAC projects in Central and Southern California, including hospitals, churches and commercial centers. Since joining ETC, Mr. Root has served as the project engineer on several projects at Sharp Memorial Hospital and Rady Children's Hospital, and he has quickly come accustomed to the special requirements of healthcare construction.
