ETC’s seasoned team of professionals have completed over four million square feet of life science tenant improvement projects throughout California including cGMP manufacturing facilities, BSL labs, clean rooms including Class 100,  chemistry and biology laboratories,  vivariums, and various pilot plants in addition to general office improvements.  ETC's team is trained on a regular basis to ensure that we deliver the most effective techniques and construction processes available. Training includes Standard Operating Procedures for cGMP/Validated Facilities.  Team members are also involved in local technical and life science organizations including BIOCOM, BayBio, ISPE and IFMA.

ETC’s life sciences team offers comprehensive construction services from preconstruction services to post construction.

Pre-construction Phase

Our pre-construction services include extensive involvement from our project management and superintendent staff allowing for a smooth transition into the construction phase.  During the preconstruction phase our team will work diligently to find creative solutions to reduce overall costs and to address specific project challenges while staying within the defined budget and schedule parameters. Our services include constructability reviews, cost estimating and value engineering, scheduling to include advising the owner of long lead items, subcontractor review and selection.

Construction Phase

ETC will provide on-site supervision throughout the course of construction.  Weekly meetings are scheduled with the owner and architect to review project specifics and ensure the team is meeting critical milestones.  Meeting minutes are generated and strict document control procedures are in place throughout the duration of the project.  The schedule is continually reviewed and updated throughout the course of construction.  ETC will oversee systems start-up, balancing and commissioning as well as the validation management program.  The site superintendent will hold regular safety meetings to review pertinent issues related to the projecct and security policies.  At the end of the project the Project Manager works closely with the Project Engineer for final close-out.

Post Construction

Following the completion of the project the owner is provided an as-built turn over package, operations manuals and warranties.
